Terms of Use

Updated 6 October 2026

Pay through the platform and your money is held until the session is done, refundable if it goes wrong. Pay outside it and none of that protection exists.

1. What this is, and who runs it

Dota4Newbie is a Dota 2 learning site run by one person, from Indonesia. The learning material, the forum, and the hero and item database are open to anyone. Two things are paid: Arcana membership and 1-on-1 coaching sessions. Using the site means accepting the terms on this page. Anything unclear can go to admin@dota4newbie.com.

2. Accounts

Accounts are created by signing in with Steam — we never store a password. One person, one account, and you are responsible for what happens under yours. The service is not intended for children under 13, and if you are under 18, payments need a parent or guardian's knowledge.

3. What is free and what is paid

The learning path, mechanics guides, hero and item database, patch notes, forum, and community builds are free with no time limit — there is no trial clock running quietly in the background. Only Arcana and coaching are paid, and both show the final total before you press pay.

4. Arcana

Arcana is paid one term at a time — a month or a year — and never auto-renews. No card is stored and there is no next invoice; the term stops by itself on its end date. Access begins the moment payment is confirmed, and from then on Arcana starts reading your match history. Arcana can also be bought as a gift: one purchase produces one code per term, each code can be claimed once by whoever holds it, its term starts when it is claimed, and codes do not expire. A code works like a voucher that belongs to whoever holds it — once someone else has claimed it we cannot take it back or move it, and gift purchases are not refunded except as the Cancellation & Refund Policy sets out. The number of codes per purchase and per day is capped to prevent payment abuse.

5. Coaching: we run the venue, the coaches work for themselves

Coaches here are not our employees. They set their own rate, their own hours, and their own way of teaching; we provide the place to meet, hold the money, and mediate if something goes wrong. We do not promise MMR gains or any particular outcome from a session — what we guarantee is that your money does not move until the session has actually happened.

6. Payments

Payments are processed by Midtrans, in Rupiah. International credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB) are accepted and are still charged in Rupiah; your card issuer handles the currency conversion. Arcana buyers outside Indonesia (memberships and gifts alike) pay through PayPal, in US dollars, at the price shown as the total. We never receive or store your card number or your PayPal sign-in — what reaches us from Midtrans and PayPal is the status of the transaction. Displayed prices include any service fee that applies, and the total appears before you pay.

7. Cancellation and refunds

The full rules are in the Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: a booking with no agreed schedule can be cancelled for a full refund, a coach more than an hour late triggers an automatic refund, and after a session you have three days to confirm it or raise a dispute.

8. Transactions go through the platform

All coaching payments must go through Dota4Newbie's payment system. Funds are held in escrow until the student confirms the session is complete. Asking for, or agreeing to, payment outside the system — a direct transfer, a personal e-wallet, or any other intermediary — breaches these terms.

9. Off the platform, there is no protection

If you pay outside our system, we have no record of the payment, we can't hold the funds, we can't process a refund, and we can't mediate a dispute. That isn't a policy choice — we simply never hold the money. Escrow, disputes, and refunds apply only to bookings made and paid for here.

10. When sharing contact details is fine

Once a booking is paid for, exchanging a WhatsApp number, Discord tag, or meeting link is a normal part of running the session — that's how the session happens. What's prohibited is exchanging contact details to move the transaction off the platform before a booking exists.

11. What you may not do

Do not sell or buy boosting or account sharing, promote cheats or anything that breaches Valve's rules, impersonate anyone, upload content that is unlawful or infringes someone's rights, harass other members, or scrape the site beyond ordinary use. Coaching means teaching someone to play — not playing for them.

12. Consequences

An upheld report can lead to a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. A suspension also takes down the account's listings and promo banners. A suspended account can still sign in, read, and finish obligations already in flight — including confirming a session so the coach's payout can still be released.

13. Reporting

A "Report" control sits on listings, profiles, and messages. The reported person is never told who reported them. If you've already lost money off-platform, report it anyway — we can't recover the funds, but we can act on the account so there isn't a next victim.

14. Content review

Reported content is reviewed by a person. Separately, messages between members are checked automatically for contact patterns (phone numbers, social handles) while the two parties have no paid booking together. That check raises a warning for both sides and records that the pattern appeared — not the message content. See the Privacy Policy for details.

15. Appeals

If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, contact us through the Contact page. Include your username and the date.

16. What you write stays yours

Forum posts, builds, hero concepts, and reviews remain yours. By posting them you give us permission to display and distribute them within this site for as long as your account exists. You can delete your own content, and deleting your account removes it too — except copies we must keep for transaction records or moderation.

17. Intellectual property

The writing, layout, and code of Dota4Newbie are ours. Dota 2 is a trademark of Valve Corporation; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for Valve. Hero names, artwork, and match data belong to their respective owners and are used for informational purposes.

18. Limitation of liability

The site is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect losses, and for any claim relating to a paid service our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the transaction in question. Nothing here removes your rights as a consumer under Indonesian law.

19. Changes to these terms

If something meaningful changes, we notify you on the site and update the date at the top of this page at least seven days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that date means accepting the new version.

20. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. If a dispute arises, come to us first through the Contact page — almost everything ends there, and it is far quicker than anything that follows it.
